Karen Treisman

Dr Karen Treisman MBE shares tips and tools to support emotional regulation in ourselves and others.

Many of us – as well as the children, parents, and adults we support – can understandably struggle with regulating emotions and sensations.

This workshop, with award-winning psychologist and bestselling author Dr Karen Treisman MBE, will present practical, sensory, physical, creative and cognitive emotional regulation tips and tools.

You’ll learn how regulation is a vital precursor to therapeutic work, and will take away tools which can be used with children, adults, and for our own regulation and wellbeing – including tools from some of Karen’s bestselling books and creations.

What you’ll take away from this Live Classroom:

  • Practical and creative tools and tips, to support you, and those you work with, to regulate
  • An understanding of the difference between up regulating and down regulating ourselves and others
  • Ideas for microdosing tools throughout your practice, including at the beginning and end of meetings
  • Ideas on how to use sensory systems to support regulation
  • The opportunity to practice breathing and calming exercises
  • Knowledge of how to take a traditional therapy exercise, such as the safe place exercise, and enrich and expand it using creative and expressive ideas.
