A practical, playful Live Classroom exploring creative approaches to life story work.
Led by artist, storyteller and creative practitioner Elena Miller.
Tickets: free for members, £50 for non-members.

How can creativity help us build connection, explore identity and support children and young people to tell their stories in ways that feel safe, meaningful and enjoyable?
Join artist, storyteller and creative practitioner Elena Miller for a practical, playful Live Classroom exploring creative approaches to life story work.
Connect: Creative warm-ups and gentle activities that can help build trust, safety and relationships, without putting pressure on children to immediately talk about themselves or their experiences.
Create: Practical, easy-to-use creative activities exploring themes such as people who are important to us, places we have lived, memories, identity and the things that make us who we are. Activities will use simple, accessible materials and can be adapted for different ages.
Include: Practical approaches to making life story work more accessible for children and young people with additional needs, including ideas for sensory, visual and non-verbal participation, adapting activities and creating genuine opportunities for choice and agency.
The session will be particularly useful if you work with younger children, early teens and children, and young people with additional needs.
Come ready to play, experiment and get creative!

Elena has been working in and around the North East for 18 years, delivering a variety of creative arts performances, programmes and workshops. She has always been amazed at the power that the arts can have to bring change – whether that be to convey a message, allow voices to be heard or build confidence and abilities. She has been honoured to be part of the Creative Life Story Work programme with Blue Cabin. She also has her own arts business which supports health and wellbeing through creative activities for children and young people, with a strong focus on sensory storytelling and play.
