A timeline used in life story work with children and young people
Toolkit

Exploring journeys with systemic timelines

A toolkit showing how to create a journey map, to help a child explore their life story.

This toolkit, created by Therapeutic Social Worker Rebecca Booth, is designed to explore a child’s journey. It is rooted in narrative therapy and seeks to explore movement of thoughts, feelings, behaviours, people, relationships and places.

For further reading on narrative therapy, see White, M. (1995) Re-authoring Lives: Interviews and Essays. Adelaide, South Australia: Dulwich Centre Publications.
