Healing through stories: Therapeutic Life Story Work with adults

Tailored for professionals working with adults and parents, this session delves into the adapted TLSW for Adults model.

You will learn, share and practice how to support clients in their healing from trauma and attachment injuries through creative, playful methods and the development of an adult life story book.

This transformative session equips attendees with tools and techniques to help clients make sense of their life stories, fostering self-awareness and emotional healing.

What will I take from this Live Classroom?

  • Key principles and stages of Adult TLSW, and how it differs from the original model
  • Techniques for building strong therapeutic alliances with adult clients
  • Methods for integrating multiple perspectives and parts of the self in sessions
  • Creative tools like Think-Feel-Do bears, behaviour trees and worry boxes
  • How life story books are used as a therapeutic tool for adults

Preparation required

Bring paper, materials to make marks on the paper with and your own stories held in your mind and body. While no specific preparation is required, familiarity with basic therapeutic concepts of TLSW will enhance your learning experience.
